Legal action can be taken against those who don’t provide information.

The Department of Census and Statistics says that all people are obliged to provide information during the 2024 population census, and legal action can be taken against those who do not provide such information.

While attending a press conference held in Colombo yesterday, its Director General D. D. G. C. Seneviratne said that since the census process is more complicated, people should support the officials who come to get information.

She ensured that the information thus obtained is not allowed to be possessed by any other party.
