Water tariffs will be reduced

Water tariffs are being revised. An extraordinary gazette notification related to this was issued last night. According to the notification, domestic water tariffs will be reduced by 7%.

Water tariffs for government hospitals will be reduced by 4.5%, and for industrial establishments, by 6.3%, according to the National Water Supply and Drainage Board. These reductions are based on the pricing formula.

Overall, the tariff reduction approved by the Cabinet amounts to 5.94%. For domestic usage, the cost per unit will be reduced by 10 Rupees from 0 to 5 units to the unit rate, compared to the previous rate of 60 Rupees per unit.
