No room will be allowed for any illegal act during the election
Police media spokesman DIG Nihal Thalduwa has emphasised that no room will be allowed for any illegal act during the election.
He told SLBC that observations will be conducted on political supporters and candidates engaged in election violation activities.
120 complaints have been received relevant to the election violations from the 24th of September. 130 persons have been taken into custody.
31 private vehicles have been taken into police custody. Measures will be taken to strengthen the security relevant to the forthcoming election.
He also stated that special security is under way in the vicinity of the places that are used for postal voting. More than one thousand election monitoring officers have been deployed for postal voting.
