Sweden’s support for the development of renewable energy sector.

The Swedish Ambassador to Sri Lanka Jan Thesleff says that the Swedish government is giving priority attention to the renewable energy sector in Sri Lanka in making investments.

He mentioned that the Swedish government has focused on Sri Lanka’s food security when he met the Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya yesterday.

The meeting took place at the Prime Minister’s Office on Flower Road, Colombo. The Prime Minister drew the Swedish ambassador’s attention to the issue of child nutrition there and stated that although Sri Lanka maintains a high health index in the region, there are still nutritional challenges among school students.

The Prime Minister also drew the attention of the Swedish Ambassador to the higher education opportunities of Sri Lankan students in Sweden and the visa difficulties faced by them.
