Pension of the Governors of the CBSL has been abolished.

The pension of the Governors of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka has been abolished. According to the special gazette announcement issued by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, the former governors or any governor appointed in the present or in the future will not receive pension.

It is stated in the gazette notice issued by the Governor of the Central Bank Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe that this will be effective from the 11^th of September. This pension was canceled from January 1, 1998. But later this was re-implemented from 1st January 2015.
