International observers meet Election Commission members.

The election campaigning has reached a crescendo as the race towards the executive Presidency nears. The final meetings organized by the front runners will be held in the capital tomorrow.

The police have implemented a special security program in connection with the main rallies. President Ranil Wickramasinghe’s public rally will be held in Kotahena.

The public rally of the Samagi Jana Sandhanaya has been organized in Maradana area. The rally of the National Peoples’ Power will be held in Nugegoda.

Meanwhile, a discussion between international election observers who have arrived in Sri Lanka to monitor the upcoming presidential election and members of the Election Commission of Sri Lanka was held today.

This was the first meeting between the international observers monitoring the presidential poll and members of the Election Commission. 26 observers from The Asian Network for Free Elections and the Commonwealth Observer Group participated in the discussion.
