The official foreign reserves of the country have risen to 5.7 billion US dollars.
The Central Bank of Sri Lanka said Sri Lanka has earned around 1.5 million US dollars from tourism in the first six months of 2024.
The CBSL points out that it is almost double the growth compared to the first six months of last year.
Meanwhile, foreign workers’ remittances for the first six months of 2024 were recorded as 3.14 million US dollars, compared to the 2.82 million US dollars income from this sector in the same period in 2023.
Additionally, the official foreign reserves of the country have risen to 5.7 billion US dollars in June.
The Central Bank further stated that the Sri Lankan rupee has also appreciated against the US Dollar until the month of June 2024.
