USS O’Kane departs Colombo

The Irrigation Department says that that the flood levels in the Kelani, Gin, and Nilwala rivers have not yet decreased. As a result, the Department of Irrigation’s Disaster Management Unit head, Engineer Sakura Dilthara, advises the residents living in low-lying areas to remain vigilant.

The National Building Research Organisation states that the flood warning issued for 33 divisional secretariats across six districts remains in effect.

These districts include Colombo, Galle, Kalutara, Kegalle, Ratnapura, and Nuwara Eliya. Since August 16^th, two people have died due to adverse weather conditions up to this morning.
