Sri Lanka earned an export revenue of 9 billion US dollars – Amunugama
State Minister Dilum Amunugama states that Sri Lanka earned an export revenue of 9 billion US dollars during the first six months of this year. During this period, Sri Lanka entered into agreements for investments totalling approximately 800 million US dollars.
Amunugama made these remarks during a discussion at the Presidential Media Centre yesterday, reflecting on two years of progress and future plans.
He noted that the Board of Investment provides facilities for 15 investment zones. Currently, 1,575 companies are operating within these zones. The State Minister mentioned that more than 500,000 people are employed in these areas.
Under the current government’s investment program, seven new investment zones are planned to be established, with suitable areas already selected for these zones.
