CAA to submit rice stock report to President Dissanayake.
The Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) will submit a report on national rice stocks to President Anura Kumara Dissanayake this week.
Accordingly, the CAA currently assesses rice and paddy stocks across districts including Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa, and Ampara, focusing on small, medium, and large-scale mill owners.
Raids are underway to curb rice sales above the controlled price, with Nadu rice capped at 220 rupees per kg.
Legal action is expected against violators. The President’s directive follows recent discussions addressing a market shortage of Nadu rice.
