Kamala Harris casts the US election as a choice between “freedom” and “chaos” in her final big pitch to voters in Washington DC.

Addressing a crowd of thousands moments away from the White House, Harris says it’s time to “turn the page on the drama and the conflict”.

She’s speaking at the Ellipse, where Donald Trump urged his supporters to “fight like hell” before they stormed the US Capitol on 6 January 2021.

Earlier, Donald Trump defended his New York rally as a “love fest”, despite criticism sparked by comedian Tony Hinchcliffe calling the US territory of Puerto Rico a “floating island of garbage”
