distribution of polling cards for the upcoming elections begins today

The distribution of official polling cards for the upcoming parliamentary elections begins today.

Deputy Postmaster General Rajitha Ranasinghe stated deliveries will be carried out to households nationwide from today.  He added deliveries are expected to continue until November 7.

He also said in order to ensure timely delivery; a dedicated distribution day has been scheduled for next Sunday too.

Meanwhile, casting of postal votes in the General Election will be done next Wednesday and on the 4th of next month.

The election commission says that the marking of postal votes will be done in all government offices, election offices and police stations in the district secretariat premises on those days.

According to the election commission the marking of postal votes in other government institutions and military camps will take place next Friday and on the 4th of next month.
