The train services from Colombo Fort to Kankasanturai tomorrow,

The train services from Colombo Fort to Kankasanturai will resume from tomorrow, The Department of Railways said rail operations of the line was halted for months owing to the maintenance and development activities.

The Department added the development works were  successful together with some of modernization work along the railway stretch between Mahawa and Anuradhapura,

The Railway Department also urges the public to exercise caution at railway crossings as the trains are now running on the Northern Railway.

The department intends to launch a unique initiative to prevent elephant train mishaps occurring in the railway lines.

Accordingly it has been decided to those goods trains operating night times would run during the daytime only.
