Accepting nominations for the General Election ends midnight.

The Election Commission has announced that the acceptance of postal vote applications related to the 2024 general election will end at midnight today.

That period was supposed to end last Tuesday at midnight. But the Election Commissioner General Saman Sri Ratnayake said that this time has been extended considering the possible delays in the mail and the requests made to the Commission. This date will not be extended for any reason.

 Acceptance of nominations for the 2024 Parliamentary General Election ends tomorrow at 12:00 noon. District Returning Officers and Assistant Returning Officers will receive nominations at each District Secretariat.
