Applications for postal voting can be forwarded until the 08th.

Election Commissioner General Saman Sri Ratnayake says that the acceptance of postal voting applications for the 2024 parliamentary general election is underway at present.

Applications can be forwarded until the 08th of this month. All those wishing to vote by post in the general election must re-apply. The workplace of the officials who applied for postal votes for the last presidential election may have changed in some way by now.

Therefore, the Election Commissioner General stated that it is essential for everyone to submit postal vote applications. He also said that an estimate of 11 billion rupees has been allocated for holding the general election.

The National Election Commission states that the nomination process for the parliamentary general election will begin tomorrow to the 11th of this month. A list of recognized political parties and alliances eligible to contest will be published.

According to Commissioner General of Elections, Saman Sri Ratnayake, nominations will be accepted until 12 PM on the 11th of this month. It is estimated that the general election will cost around 11 billion rupees,

and the President has approved this amount. This is higher than the expenditure for the presidential election due to the need to use 22 ballot papers at district level.
