Many countries are ready to strengthen diplomatic relations

anthosh Jha, Indian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, who met the President, pointed out the importance of digitizing government systems to fight corruption effectively. India’s aim is to support the development process of this country in every possible way. The Indian High Commissioner stated that it is India’s wish to see Sri Lanka emerge as a peaceful and stable state in the region.
In the meeting between President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and the Cuban Ambassador to Sri Lanka Andres Gonzalez Gorrido, attention was focused on strengthening long-term diplomatic relations.
The Cuban government continues to support Sri Lanka’s efforts to combat dengue. Pointing out the success achieved by Cuba in the suppression of the dengue menace, the Cuban ambassador stated that he is ready to provide expertise for public health programs aimed at eradicating the menace of dengue in Sri Lanka.
Australian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Paul Stevens also met President Anura Kumara Dissanayake. He assured the continued support of the Australian government to Sri Lanka in key areas including maritime security, border control and counter-terrorism efforts. Australia supports the programs implemented by Sri Lanka with the International Monetary Fund. Stevens explained that Australia is keen to promote foreign direct investment in Sri Lanka.
