Former Sri Lankan Cricketer Dulip Samaraweera banned
Cricket Victoria announced today that former Sri Lankan test batsman Dulip Samaraweera has been banned from all cricket roles in Australia for 20 years due to “inappropriate behaviour” with a female player.
Aamaraweera, who played seven tests and five ODIs for Sri Lanka from 1993 to 1995, had been involved in coaching women’s teams in Victoria, including the Melbourne Stars WBBL team.
Cricket Australia stated that its Conduct Commission found Samaraweera in violation of CA’s code of conduct, resulting in the prohibition of his involvement in any Cricket Australia or state and territory association roles in Australia.
