Passport-issuing issues would be resolved soon – Department

The Department of Immigration and Emigration says that the passports equipped with new security devices will be received in Sri Lanka by the 15th of next month.

The department said 50,000 thousand new passports have been ordered and the first batch of 50,000 passports will be received next month.

The department added they are confident that the problems in the issuance of passports will be solved with the receipt of the consignment. Until the stock is received, the number of passports issued daily is limited it added.
