Anura Kumara Dissanayake, the presidential candidate from the National People’s Power, says he will reduce electricity bills by one-third under his administration.

During   a   public   meeting   in   the   Galgamuwa   area,   he mentioned that he aims to create a livable country for the people.SLPP Presidential candidate Namal Rajapaksa,

states that if current laws are insufficient to combat drug trafficking and child and women’s violence, he is prepared to introduce new legislation. Speaking at a public meeting in Dematagoda,

he said that he is capable of rebuilding a fractured society.Meanwhile, Manjula Gajananayake, the Executive Director of the Institute of Democratic Electoral Reform and Electoral Studies,

states that out of the candidates running for the presidency, 23 are inactive. They have not engaged in any campaigning activities so far. He notes that only about 15 out of the 38 presidential candidates have gathered a team of at least ten people to hold small public meetings
