A meeting between the Prime Minister & representatives of the FAO of the UN

A meeting between Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya and representatives of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations was held yesterday at the Prime Minister’s Office.

Future measures for the development of the agriculture sector in Sri Lanka were discussed at the meeting and attention was drawn to several important aspects of agriculture.

 A meeting between Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya and Australian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Mr. Paul Wesley Stephan was held at the Prime Minister’s Office in Colombo Yesterday.

The High Commissioner, extended the good wishes of the Australian government, and engaged in a discussion on strengthening diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Carmen Moreno, Ambassador of the European Union to Sri Lanka, paid a courtesy call on the Prime Minister, at the Prime Minister’s Office in Colombo.

The meeting was an opportunity to reaffirm the strong and enduring relationship between the European Union and Sri Lanka, which is built on mutual respect and cooperation.

Prime Minister Dr. Amarasuriya highlighted the importance of the EU’s continued support for the GSP+ trade scheme, which has been instrumental in boosting Sri Lankan exports.

The Prime Minister also outlined her government’s vision to attract more foreign investment by eliminating corruption and strengthening institutions such as the Board of Investment.
