The EC decides to increase the number of staff members 

The Election Commission decides to increase the number of staff members to be recruited for the upcoming general election. The Commission said number of  Officials will be increase in the counting centres.

Meanwhile, acceptance of nominations will be done until 1200 noon next Friday. The Election Commission said half an hour time will be given to file objections.  The Parliamentary General Election will be held on November 14.

Meanwhile, former parliamentarian Tissa Attanayake announced that young women and professionals will receive a 25% allocation to contest for the parliamentary election and about 25 percent new comers will be included in the nomination lists.
