No individuals retuned firearms issued by the Ministry yet.

The Ministry of Defence has confirmed the issuance of 1,690 firearms for a total of 1,500 individuals. The Ministry said it has called on the respective people to that all firearms and ammunition must be returned to the government’s commercial explosives unit by November 7.

The Ministry added since the ministry notified civilians to hand over their firearms and ammunition, no individuals have yet complied with the directive even though 48 hours have passed.

The Ministry also said that in the future, firearms will only be issued based on intelligence reports.
