Sri Lankans are safe in Lebanon ongoing military situation.

The Sri Lankan Consulate in Lebanon has confirmed that Sri Lankans residing there are safe, despite the ongoing military situation.

Kapila Jayaveera, the Sri Lankan Ambassador in Lebanon, stated that the consulate maintains close communication with the Sri Lankans in Lebanon. Approximately 7,600 Sri Lankan workers are employed in Lebanon, with the majority living in the southern regions.

The ambassador noted that the conflicts are occurring in the northern areas of Lebanon and confirmed that no Sri Lankans live in those regions.
