SLBC prepares to Air new radio drama name of “Madol Doova.”

SLBC is preparing to present a new radio drama adaptation of Martin Wickramasinghe’s famous novel ‘Madol Doova’ to the Sri Lankan audience. A media briefing on the matter was held today at the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation premises.

This new production comes about five decades after the original Madol Doova radio drama was produced. The idea for this latest adaptation was conceived by the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation, Hudson Samarasinghe.

The production is directed by Sinhala Service Director Indika Jayaratne, using the original script written by Karunaratne Amarasinghe. Priyanthini Gamage is the producer of this third edition of the Madol Doova radio drama series.

Chairman Hudson Samarasinghe stated that National Radio, now in its 100th year, is committed to strengthening its national communication mission and enriching the aesthetic experiences of its listeners by presenting this timeless novel in the form of a radio drama.
