The election campaign called ‘Read Ranil’ was launched today
The election campaign called ‘Read Ranil’ organized in support of the victory of presidential candidate Ranil Wickremesinghe was launched today on a nationwide scale.
The organizers of this program state that the objective is to provide the public with an opportunity to understand the political, social, and cultural aspects of Ranil Wickremesinghe’s character.
As part of this program, leaflets containing key points from the policy statement presented by Wickremesinghe for the upcoming presidential election are being distributed, and efforts are being made to inform the public about them. The organizers also mention that anyone can join this program.

Member of Parliament J.C. Alawathuwala states that Sajith Premadasa is the only leader representing all the ethnic groups in the country. He mentioned that under a government of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya, plans are in place to reduce the tax burden, lower the cost of goods, increase public sector salaries, provide assistance to farmers, and offer a monthly allowance of 20,000 rupees for two years to low-income individuals. Additionally, interest rates on senior citizens’ fixed deposits are to be increased to 15 percent, among other relief measures. He shared these plans during a public meeting held in Mawatagama yesterday. He also noted that under his government, all schools across the island will have well-equipped classrooms.
