The Election Commission to urgently conduct the provincial council elections – Supreme Court

The Supreme Court has ruled that the then-members of the Election Commission and the Minister of Finance violated fundamental rights by failing to conduct the provincial council elections as scheduled in March of the previous year.

Accordingly, the Supreme Court has directed the Election Commission to urgently conduct the provincial council elections. This order was issued while delivering judgments on fundamental rights petitions filed by several political parties and other organizations.
