Sri Lanka-India ferry service is set to recommence.
The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Aviation announced the resumption of the passenger ferry service between Sri Lanka and India, to increase connectivity between the two neighbouring nations.
The service, which had been suspended, is slated to recommence operations starting next week.
K.D.S. Ruwanchandra, the Secretary to the Ministry, confirmed that preparations are underway for a trial voyage to Nagapattinam in India.
It is a figure to be calculated after taking stock of current price rates. It is an amount accepted by all the candidates. We will consult all of them. He said it would be an amount determined in respect of each vote. When the local authorities’ election was announced last year, it was decided at Rs.20 per voter. The local election was not, however, conducted.
