Lankan drug trafficker arrested at Wennappuwa beach.

A Sri Lankan national who arrived on the shores of Thal Deka Wennappuwa by an Indian fishing boat was arrested by the Sri Lanka Navy and Police.

The Wennappuwa Police arrested the individual while attempting to secretly disembark on the shores of Thal Deka.

It has been revealed that the suspect was previously arrested in India in 2021 for his involvement in drug trafficking.

Meanwhile, the Wennappuwa Police are carrying out further investigations and will proceed with legal action against the suspect and the Indian fishing boat.
