Cooperative movement will be developed as an independent. – The President

President Ranil Wickremesinghe says that cooperative movement will be developed as an independent and strong entity to provide better service to the public. Accordingly, people’s business section will be set up in the country in addition to the state and private sector.

The president made these remarks at a discussion held in Colombo yesterday on the topic of ‘the future of the cooperative movement in Sri Lanka.

Chair persons and director board members of the cooperative sales network participated at this discussion.

Addressing the gathering, Trade minister Nalin Fernando said the president has been able stabilize the country’s economy within a very short period of two years.
