Namal Rajapaksa named Presidential Candidate of SLPP
The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna today officially announces its National Organiser MP Namal Rajapaksa as the party’s Presidential Candidate.
The SLPP General Secretary, Sagara Kariyawasam announced this at the party’s headquarters in Nelum Mawatha. Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa,
SLPP founder Basil Rajapaksa, and several other party members had also attended the event. Namala Rajapaksa had been tipped to be named as the SLPP’s presidential candidate after SLPP MP Dhammika Perera decided to withdraw from the race citing personal reasons.
A group of -b SLFP:
A group of Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) members led by MP Dayasiri Jayasekara has signed an agreement with SJB presidential candidate Sajith Premadasa to support him in the upcoming Presidential Election. Dayasiri Jayasekara and SJB leader Sajith Premadasa signed the relevant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The ACMC:
The All Ceylon Makkal Congress (ACMC) led by former minister Rishad Bathiudeen has decided to announce the candidate it will support at the upcoming presidential election on August 14th . The leader of the ACMC, MP Rishad Bathiudeen, stated that this decision was taken during the party’s Supreme Council meeting last night.
