President Ranil Wickremesinghe says that the national economy cannot be compromised with any political party ideology. The agreements signed with the IMF must be continued obtain proposed debt relief in Sri Lanka The president said  the economic transformation bill was introduced to develop the country’s economy as an export oriented economy by 2035.

President Ranil Wickremesinghe made these remarks during a meeting with scholars, professionals, and entrepreneurs in Trincomalee today.

He further said that the economic stabilization program initiated by the government must be continued to steer the country towards prosperity.

People of the Northern and eastern Provinces have been facing economic difficulties for a long time, even though there is significant untapped economic potential in these areas.
