President Wickramasinghe says that Jaffna will be transformed into a developed district within the next 10 years.

President Ranil Wickramasinghe has said that the support given by Minister Douglas Devananda to his work plans to revive the country from the economic crises is enormous. On behalf of the people of the Northern Province, he hopes that this cooperation would be available in the future as well.

The President pointed out that Minister Douglas Devananda supported in his efforts to build the country which was lying in abyss. We hope to strengthen Jaffna’s economy through the ‘River for Jaffna’ project.

Efforts are made to develop Kankasanthurai port. An investment zone will be started at the site of the cement factory. Such a network will also be set up in Poonaryn.

Tourism will be promoted with a focus on Palali. Jaffna will be transformed into a developed district within the next 10 years.

Accepting the invitation of Minister Douglas Devananda, the President today visited the head office of the Eelam People’s Democratic Party in Jaffna.
