The Thaalayadi Sea Water desalination plant has been vested with the public.

The Thaalayadi Sea Water desalination plant has been vested with the public by President Ranil Wickremasinghe. The cost of the project is 270 million US dollars.

This was constructed under the assistance of the Asian Development Bank and the Sri Lankan government. The project was implemented by the National Water Supply and Sanitation Board.

This project will benefit more than 300,000 people in the area.
