New SDIG appointed to cover administration duties.
The National Police Commission has appointed Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police Lalith Pathinayake to cover the duties of Senior DIG Administration.
The National Police Commission said this appointment comes as Senior DIG Nilantha Jayawardena has been sent on compulsory leave with immediate effect, until such time that the disciplinary investigation against him pertaining to the Easter Sunday terror attacks is concluded.
