A meeting between District Returning Officers, Assistant Commissioners of Elections and the Commissioner General of Elections

Chairman of the Election Commission R.M.A.L Rathnayake says that a meeting between District Returning Officers, Assistant Commissioners of Elections and the Commissioner General of Elections will be held in the near future.

The Chairman said that the meeting will be held on next Saturday. The commission says that around 125 complaints received regarding violation of elections laws at present.

The commission says that government organizations should work according to the relevant gazette notification issued regarding the presidential election. The Commission further says that the misusing the public properties, appointments and transfers are not allowed during this period.

The Commissioner says that the media guidelines will also be issued soon. Media guidelines for Private Media Institutes will also be issued and actions will be taken against private organizations them if they are not comply with the guidelines.
