Preparing polling centres for the presidential election is being carried out at present.

The Elections Commission says that obtaining details regarding the polling centres and preparing centres for election are being carried out at present. One centre will be setup in each district as counting centres. Steps have been taken to distribute poll cards in the future. Assistant Elections Commissioner K.J Sampath says that if anyone hasn’t received the poll card, they can collect it from the relevant post office by proving their identity.

Meanwhile, the National Election Commission has received 51 complaints for the past 24 hours ended 04:30 pm yesterday. All complaints were related to violations of election laws, the Election Commission said in a statement. Twenty-five complaints were received by the National Centre for Election Complaint Management, while 26 were received by the District Centres for Election Complaint Management. Meanwhile, the total number of election-related complaints lodged with the Commission from July 31, 2024 was 320.
