The great contribution made by the late Galaboda Gnanissara Thero for the benefit of the Buddha Sasana

The final rites of the late Venerable Galaboda Gnanissara Thero, the Chief Sangha Nayake of the Colombo New Korale and the Chief Incumbent of the Hunupitiya Gangarama Temple, is currently underway with state patronage, on the grounds adjacent to the temple. Many dignitaries including President Ranil Wickremasinghe and Premier Dinesh Gunawardena are attending the funeral. Delivering an Anusasana, Venerable Dr. Kirinde Assaji Thero appreciated the great contribution made by the late Gnanissara Thero for the benefit of the Buddha Sasana.

Meanwhile, a special traffic plan will be carried out till 8.00 pm today in several areas of Colombo. This will be implemented in Dharmapala Mawatha, Sir James Peiris Mawatha and several other roads near Kompannavidiya.
