Trump takes North Carolina in first swing state result

Donald Trump is projected to win the second swing state of Georgia, after picking up North Carolina earlier.

The US presidential election is far from decided, but the playing field appears to be steadily tilting toward Donald Trump, our correspondent Anthony Zurcher writes.

Republicans are on the verge of taking the Senate from the Democrats – the second biggest prize after the presidency.
