Kandy Esala Perahera Festival this year begins with ‘Kap’ planting ritual tomorrow morning.
The “Kap Chanting” took place this evening marking the beginning of Kandy Esala Perahera Festival 2024 this evening. The traditional planting of the ‘Kapa’, a wooden pole, will take place early morning tomorrow at the four Devalaya premises at the auspicious time.
As the first ritual of the Kandy Esala Perahera Festival comes to an end, the inside processions will commence from tomorrow onwards at Natha, Vishnu, Kataragama and Paththini Devalaya premises until Friday.
The first Kumbal perahera will parade on streets on Saturday and it will end on the 14th. The Randoli Perahera will parade from 15th to the 19th of this month.
