
Government is committed to build a country
President Anura Kumara Dissanayake said that the government is committed to build a country where everyone feels at home.
The public voted for the NPP in hope of making the most radical change in the country. The President made this remark while attending a rally held in Trincomalee today.
After the appointment of President Dissanayake, many measures have been taken for the betterment of the country. In order to uplift the economy, 2 billion rupees have been allocated from the treasury for providing fertilizer subsidy.
The security booths in front of the Temple trees were removed and the road from the Kollupitiya Mosque to the Rotunda Roundabout was re-opened for the public.
Many global financial institutions have come forward to support the economic reforms to be implemented in the country.
Accordingly, the International Development Association of the World Bank is ready to provide 200 million dollars to Sri Lanka.
11,000 acres of land belonging to Kantale Sugar Factory have been handed over to farmers for short-term crop cultivation.
A special fuel concession was granted to the fishing industry. There was a high demand for obtaining passports and the government has also solved that issue as well.
