election monitors from eight countries have been invited.

 The Chairman of the election commission council  R.M.A.L.  Rathnayake says that  election monitors from eight countries have been invited for the general election.

The monitors from SAARC regional countries and from Russia  are to arrive.  He stated that the election monitors from the European union and the members of Asian election monitoring network will also visit the island in this regard.
