Goal is to elevate the one-day and T-20 test cricket team.
Newly appointed Sri Lanka’s cricket coach, Sanath Jayasuriya, stated that the goal is to elevate the one-day and T20 teams to the level of the Test cricket team.
Speaking at a media briefing in Colombo yesterday, he emphasized that appointing a local coach has provided players with the opportunity to discuss and resolve their issues.
Jayasuriya expressed strong confidence in the team’s ability to achieve a successful future with all players on board. He acknowledged that taking on the national coach position is indeed a challenge but assured that he is committed to fulfilling his maximum potential for the country.
Looking ahead, he mentioned that minor adjustments will be made to the one-day squad in preparation for upcoming tours against West Indies and New Zealand.
