Accepting of applications for postal votes will end today.

Accepting of applications for postal votes for the 2024 general election will end today. The election commission said that it is compulsory for the persons who applied for postal votes at the presidential election should also apply for postal votes for the general election.

The relevant voter register can be obtained freely from the district election offices and from the official website of the election commission www. elections.gov.lk. The relevant application should be sent to the district returning officials before 12.00 noon today.

Acceptance of nominations for the Parliamentary General Election ends at 12.00 noon on Friday.  Arrangements have been made to hold the 2024 general election on the 14th of next month.
