Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption decides to action
The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption has decided to file legal action to freeze properties belonging to seven persons.
The Commission said the person includes politicians, public officials, and military officers. The Commission has taken steps to prevent these suspects from using their properties, bank accounts, and insurance policies.
The Commission said investigators were probing these seven persons on how they acquired number of assets that they would not be able to acquire on their normal salaries.
According to the Commission investigations conducted thus far have revealed that claims made by some of the suspects were entirely false.
Meanwhile, the Colombo High Court this week extended by three months the order freezing 16 bank accounts and five insurance policies belonging to former Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella and several members of his family.
