President Dissanayake worshipped at  the Sri Jayasri Maha Bodhi

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake worshipped at  the historic Sri  Jayasri Maha Bodhi in  Anuradhapura this  evening  and obtained the blessings of the Maha Sangha.

He had a cordial discussion with the chief incumbent of the Vihara the Venerable Pallegama Hemarathana Thero.   The President engaged in religious activities at the Udamaluwa. The Maha   Sangha Chanted Seth Pirith to invoke blessings on the President

Delivering an Anusasana, the Atamasthanadhipathi said that the President has been entrusted with the responsibility to uplift the living standards of the innocent  people and to safeguard the nation  and the religion.

The lives of suffering people should  be uplifted.,  The present president has the capability to create a better political culture in the country.  The Thera also pointed out the need to  prepare a long term national policy in the country.

After that the President visited the Ruwanweli Maha Seya and obtained the blessings of the Venerable Eethala Vatunu wewe Gnanathilaka Thera.  The President engaged in religious activities at the Ruwanweli seya.
