Release of Rs. 11 billion to hold the 2024 General Election.

The Commissioner General of Elections, Saman Sri Ratnayake, says that the President has signed the relevant document for the release of Rs. 11 billion to hold the 2024 General Election.

He said two meetings regarding the preliminary matters concerning the parliamentary elections had been conducted at the Election Commission Office in Rajagiriya yesterday.

Aaaacrrording to him the first discussion was held with the participation of District Secretaries and Deputy District Secretaries, and the Commissioner General of Elections, Saman Sri Ratnayake also attended the discussion.

Meanwhile, another meeting between District Returning Officers, Assistant Commissioners, and Deputy Election Commissioners was also held last afternoon to further discuss election preparations.
