Israel has rejected calls for a ceasefire with Hezbollah, defying U.S. requests for a three-week halt to facilitate diplomacy. Foreign Minister Israel Katz stated,

“There will be no ceasefire in the north,” emphasizing a commitment to continue fighting until victory. His comments dashed hopes for a quick resolution, as Prime Minister Najib Mikati had expressed optimism about ceasefire discussions.
