Sri Lanka achieves self-sufficiency in poultry production.

President of the All Island Poultry Association Ajith Gunasekara says Sri Lanka has reached self-sufficiency in chicken and egg production.

Egg production has surged, and there is now ample supply in the market.

Despite lower egg prices, consumption has decreased, putting pressure on small and medium-scale producers.

Prices for eggs currently range from 30 to 40 rupees, but production costs remain high for smaller farms, leading to instability.
