Postal vote applications for parliamentary election open from 30th.
The acceptance of postal vote applications for the Parliamentary General Election will take place from the 30th of this month until the 7th of next month.
Election Commissioner General Saman Sri Rathnayake stated that those who submitted postal vote applications for the Presidential Election do not need to submit new applications for this election.
The 2024 voter registry will be used for this election as well. He made this statement during a press briefing held in Colombo this morning.
However, if a postal vote application submitted for the previous Presidential Election was rejected for any reason, the relevant issues should be corrected, and a new postal vote application must be submitted.
The same rules and regulations followed during the previous Presidential Election will be implemented with the commencement of the Parliamentary Election.
