New provincial Governors sworn in.

New provincial Governors were appointed by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake today. Accordingly, former Vice Chancellor, University of Peradeniya Prof. Sarath Abeykoon was sworn in as the governor of the Central Province.

Former Senior Administrative Officer Bandula Harischandra was appointed as the governor of the Southern Province. Former Government Agent of Jaffna Nagalingam Vedanayagam is the new governor of the Northern Province.

The former Vice-Chancellor of Uva Wellassa University, Professor Jayanthalal Ratnasekara, is the Governor of the Eastern Province.

Mr. Tissa Kumarasiri has been appointed as the Governor of North Central Province while High Court Judge Mrs. Champa Janaki Rajakaruna has been appointed as the Governor of Sabaragamuwa Province.

The new governor of the Western Province is entrepreneur Hanif Yusuf, while Former senior Administrative officer Thissa Warnasooriya was appointed the governor of the North Western province. Kapila Jayasekara has been appointed as the Governor of the Uva province.

The governors were sworn in before the President at the Presidential Secretariat in Colombo.
